Belted Galloway
-
The Belted Galloway is a traditional Scottish breed of beef cattle. It derives from the Galloway cattle of the Galloway region of south-western Scotland and was established as a separate breed in 1921. It is adapted to living on the poor upland pastures and windswept moorlands of the region.
Belted Galloways are known for their ease of calving, producing a live calf every year. Some Belted Galloways have had two separate calves in one year. “Belties” can adapt to a variety of climatic conditions. They have good foraging abilities, ensuring that they thrive where other breeds fail.
The Belted Galloway takes longer to mature than commercial breeds and has a smaller frame. Due to its mixed diet and long life, the meat is not only beautifully marbled for the very best rich flavor and texture but is high in beneficial Omega 3 fat.

The Highland is a Scottish breed of rustic cattle. It originated in the Scottish Highlands and the Western Islands of Scotland and has long horns and a long shaggy coat. It is a hardy breed, able to withstand the intemperate conditions in the region.
Highland cows are raised primarily for their meat, which is growing in popularity due to being lower in cholesterol than other forms of beef. These cattle are a hardy breed designed to withstand the conditions in the Scottish Highlands.
Pure Highland Beef is slow-maturing, lean, firm, and very low in fat, but it is also rich in protein and iron. It is unsurpassed for flavor, tenderness, and juiciness. This comes from having just the right amount of marbling through the meat to give that succulent flavor so typical of old-fashioned traditional beef.
